We haven't really got a lot of players in the IPL compared to other countries so it's not a foregone conclusion more players will be signed.
After all, this (the IPL) is an Indian competition and the focus should be on Indian players. The restriction on the foreign players is just perfect
IPL is more about local players because they will be the ones who will make the difference. Unfortunately I haven't seen the new recruits but by the time the tournament starts, we will have 5-6 nets with them
I am following the IPL ... I think it would be great for the women's game, creating more competition and showcasing the world's best players from different countries. It would also be a stepping-stone to women's cricket becoming professional.
The process from here will be that all players will meet with their player groups. We would then highlight these concerns to the IPL. FICA will co-ordinate our issues to the IPL and we will then await a response from the IPL.
S. Badrinath, Manpreet Gony and Muralit Vijay have gone on to play for India. Suresh Raina has emerged a much better cricketer. So, the IPL really helps the emerging players
We have the strongest group of players. A few of them are capable of surprising people in IPL-III. At top of the order there is South African captain Graeme Smith like a rock
This event provides a good opportunity for players to perform close to the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the World Cup
The players are most certainly concerned, the IPL's had a direct threat ... and the IPL security plans are not currently in a state that we're happy with, those are the two issues
It's a blessing in disguise that the Pakistani cricket players were not selected in IPL considering the pathetic performance of Pakistani team during its matches in Australia
heavens won’t fall if international players refuse to come for the Indian Premier League (IPL)
However, the players will have to be careful in IPL tournament to avoid injury, which may prove costly to the prospects of Indian team in the World Cup
Our players were busy with domestic commitments for the entire season. Now it is time to assemble and tune up ahead of the IPL
The Indians are concerned about internet comments which have been made by al-Qa'ida groups that the absence of Pakistani players makes this year's IPL an even more legitimate terror target
Apart from being in contact with a number of key IPL personnel, West Indies Players' Association (WIPA) has also sought independent advice from organisations which have conducted similar security tests
The Indian government's backing of the plan devised by Nicholls Steyn and Associates, the company in charge of IPL security, would give players a huge boost in safety confidence
I think the development overnight is that the Indian Government is going to get behind Nicholls Steyn, the IPL security people, (and) ramp up security for the players
We will not be dictated by players associations where to play. DLF IPL will be played in India
The process from here is for all players associated to meet with their player groups and for all of us to feed back the concerns raised from these meetings to the IPL.
There are some issues that have been raised, if the IPL can satisfy those issues then potentially the players will be in a position to go
But as I said, at the moment our players want to go to the IPL, we have some issues we are trying to work through.\
From the outset, it is important to reiterate that players want to play in this year's IPL
The IPL is an Indian domestic tournament and the players go there as individuals playing for eight different franchise teams
It (to participate or not) is the decision of individual players to play in the IPL
As far as the security of the games is concerned, Australia and India have been in close touch. The Australian Hockey team is here and Australian players will be participating in IPL matches. Australia has expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements.
